Surrealistic Encounter «Surrealism in Japan»
On August 30, 2018, the cultural encounter “Surrealism in Japan” took place at the historic Maison André Breton (MAB) in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, France, hosted by the association La Rose Impossible.
The event featured a lecture by Martine Monteau and Professor Atsuko Nagaï (University of Tokyo), exploring the history and impact of surrealism in Japan (based on their feature for Mélusine journal N°XXXVI), accompanied by bilingual readings in French and Japanese.
The evening concluded with a multidisciplinary performance by the Latin American artist collective L’Archibrazo as part of their European tour with the Surrealistic Nomad Festival.
